Several women who were attacked by an enraged, pipe-wielding Tesla driver say they're frustrated with Los Angeles County prosecutors for not being involved in the plea deal.Nathaniel Radimak’s "reign of terror" escalated in late 2022 and early 2023 before he was identified and eventually arrested. Prosecutors, however, say he had been terrorizing drivers for years."He immediately exited his vehicle with a crowbar in his hand, visibly enraged, ran towards my car and repeatedly struck my car with a crowbar," one of Radimak's victims, Beth Lamprecht, said at a news conference Tuesday.Prosecutors say Radimak also threatened to attack a woman at a storage facility in Atwater Village and threatened to assault a 74-year-old woman outside a doctor's office in Glendale.Nathaniel Radimak is seen getting out of a Tesla SUV and attacking a victim with a large pipe along the 2 Freeway on Jan. 11, 2023. JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Republican Gov. Tate Reeves of Mississippi hoped to avoid a runoff after Democrat Brandon Presley conceded Tuesday in their hard-fought that was disrupted by a voting mess. The Associated Press has not called the race because it was not clear whether Reeves would remain above the threshold for a runoff. “Mississippi has momentum, and this is Mississippi’s time,” Reeves told cheering supporters at a party in the Jackson suburb of Flowood, reflecting the main theme of his campaign. The mood at Presley’s party in Jackson, the capital city, was somber as he said hours after the polls closed: “Tonight’s a setback, but we’re not going to lose hope … This campaign elevated issues that had to be elevated in Mississippi.” Mississippi requires that contests where no candidate receives a majority of the vote must advance to a runoff.Although Reeves has 52% of the vote with an estimated 88% of the vote counted, the AP has not declared him the winner because much of the...Assembly member Paul Moriarty wins open New Jersey Senate seat, keeping it under Democratic control

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Democrats who campaigned on protecting abortion rights swept Tuesday’s legislative elections, retaking full control of the General Assembly after two years of divided power. The outcome is a sharp loss for Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who exerted a great deal of energy, money and political capital on an effort to secure a GOP trifecta.“It’s official: there will be absolutely no abortion ban legislation sent to Glenn Youngkin’s desk for the duration of his term in office, period, as we have thwarted MAGA Republicans’ attempt to take total control of our government and our bodies,” Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus Chair Mamie Locke said in a statement referencing Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.Virginia was one of just four states holding legislative races this year, and it’s something of a microcosm of other closely divided states that will be critical in next year’s presidential election.
